How to get there

By Car.

From the north:

Take the A8 Munich-Salzburg motorway to exit 97 Holzkirchen and then the B318/B307 to Lake Tegernsee.

From the south:

Either via the Inntal, the Achenpass and the B307 or the Inntalautobahn, the A8 Munich-Salzburg autobahn, to exit 99 Irschenberg.

By Train.

Long-distance trains from all over Germany and Europe arrive in Munich every day. Every hour, the Bavarian Regiobahn (BRB) takes you quickly and directly to Gmund or Tegernsee, where you have quick connections to continue your journey to all other places on the lake by bus (free with the guest card and the TegernseeCard) or taxi.

By Plane.

Munich Airport is about an hour's drive (90 km) from Tegernsee. There is a permanent, direct connection with the S-Bahn or the airport bus to Munich Central Station. From there you can reach Lake Tegernsee either by train (BOB) or directly by bus (RVO) from the main train station.
